FAQ

Frequently asked questions

If your question is not answered here, send us a short message and we will get back to you.

What ages do you assess?

Assessment services are available for children and adolescents aged 5–17 years. Learning difficulties assessments are typically suitable from around age 7.

How long does an assessment take?

Most assessments involve an initial consultation, one or more assessment sessions, and a feedback session. The number and length of sessions depend on the questions being explored.

When will we receive the report?

Written reports are generally completed within 14–21 business days after all assessment sessions are complete and the required information has been received. More complex assessments may take up to 28 business days.

What does the report include?

A summary of assessment findings, diagnostic formulation where appropriate, your child’s strengths and areas of difficulty, and practical recommendations for home and school — including educational adjustments where relevant.

Can Medicare or private health insurance cover the assessment?

Our standard cognitive, learning difficulties and ADHD assessment packages are privately funded. Medicare rebates are generally not available for these packages; some services may qualify under specific referral or eligibility arrangements. Please check with Medicare, your insurer or funding provider before booking.

Do you offer NDIS-funded assessments?

Some families may be able to use NDIS funding depending on their plan and goals. We recommend confirming eligibility with your plan manager or support coordinator before booking.

What languages do you work in?

Assessments are offered in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Do you assess for autism?

Our practice currently focuses on cognitive, learning, ADHD and intellectual disability assessments. Comprehensive autism diagnostic assessments are not currently offered, but we can recommend appropriate services where needed.

How do we book?

Send a text message to 0404 700 210 or email [email protected] with your name, your child’s age and a brief description of your concerns. We will reply with availability and next steps.

What happens if we need to cancel?

With two or more business days’ notice there is no cancellation fee. With less than two business days, 50% of the scheduled appointment fee may apply; non-attendance without notice may incur up to 100%. Illness and exceptional circumstances are considered individually.
