Cecilia Ng, registered psychologist

With over 18 years of professional experience across Australia and Hong Kong, I specialise in cognitive, learning and developmental assessments for children and adolescents. My areas of expertise include Specific Learning Disorders (such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), giftedness, intellectual disability and understanding autism-related developmental needs.

Throughout my career, I have worked in government education services, schools and private practice settings, supporting children and young people with diverse learning and developmental needs.

I am committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based assessments that recognise each child’s unique strengths, challenges and circumstances. My practice is guided by an ecological, strengths-based approach that considers the child within their broader family, school and social environments. I have extensive experience collaborating with schools, conducting classroom observations and developing educational recommendations.

Where appropriate, I incorporate teachers’ information and collaborate closely with parents, teachers and other professionals to develop a comprehensive understanding of each child’s needs. This collaborative approach helps ensure that assessment findings translate into meaningful, practical recommendations that can be applied at home and at school.

My approach

I believe that every child has a unique combination of strengths, abilities and areas of need.

My goal is to help children and families gain a clearer understanding of their learning and development, identify areas where additional support may be beneficial, and feel confident about the next steps.

Through comprehensive assessments and practical, individualised recommendations, I aim to empower families and educators to support children in reaching their full potential.
