Included

What is included in an assessment

  • Initial parent consultation: presenting concerns, developmental history and background information
  • Standardised assessments using appropriate psychological and educational tools
  • Clinical interviews and questionnaires with parents, teachers and, where appropriate, the child or adolescent
  • Clinical interpretation and integration of findings, including diagnostic formulation where appropriate
  • A comprehensive written report with conclusions and practical, individualised recommendations
  • A parent feedback session to discuss findings, ask questions and explore next steps

Recommendations are tailored to each child’s needs and may include strategies for home and school, educational adjustments and referrals to other professionals when appropriate.

Who assessments are for

Families who want to understand why a child is finding learning, attention or everyday functioning harder than expected — and what to do next.

  • Reading, spelling, writing or maths that lags behind peers
  • Attention, organisation or impulsivity concerns at home and school
  • Questions about giftedness or a uneven learning profile
  • School reports that mention adjustments, support or further testing

Important information

Our practice currently focuses on cognitive, learning, ADHD and intellectual disability assessments. Comprehensive autism diagnostic assessments and ongoing psychological therapy are not currently offered.

Where additional assessment or ongoing therapeutic support is required, we can provide recommendations for appropriate services and professionals.

Not sure which assessment you need? Most families start with a short conversation about the concerns they are seeing at home and at school. Send us a message and we will suggest the most appropriate option.
